〔即時新聞／綜合報導〕台灣短短一個月內失去2個邦交國，包括多明尼加和布吉納法索都在與台灣斷交2天後，與中國建交，對此，日內瓦大學研究員汗·默罕默德表示，這似乎成了全球效應，而台灣正遭遇失敗，他認為，這些國家相繼棄台投中，顯示出他們只看到實質利益。

據《美國之音》（Voice of America）報導，布國日前宣布與我國斷交，導致台灣邦交國僅剩18國，其中，非洲邦交國更僅剩1國。汗·默罕默德（Guive Khan-Mohammad ）指出，布吉納法索與中國本來就有大規模的貿易往來，相反地，和台灣並沒有那麼多。有分析也指出，原本在非洲處於劣勢的中國，現在幾乎將台灣從這裡徹底抹殺。

此外，汗·默罕默德也指出，台灣對於非洲的協助採取西方模式，著重在衛生和農業合作，而中國則是以數十億美元貸款的基礎設施建設和軍事駐紮為主。
